If your mailing address changes while your ITIN application is being processed, you should notify the IRS as soon as possible to avoid missing important correspondence or your ITIN assignment letter (CP565). You can submit Form 8822 (Change of Address) or provide a signed written request containing your identifying information and old and new addresses to the IRS ITIN Operation. Keep in mind that changes may not be processed before the IRS sends correspondence to your previous address.
